About
I started screen printing in the late 1960s. I did a number of courses where the method was simple and using simple materials such as making ones own screens and mediums which worked well with the oil based mediums used at that time.

After completing a degree in psychology I did research in architectural psychology and helped ran an interior design design practice specialising in restaurants, hotels and banqueting suites. One of these - The Beefeater by Tower until the pandemic remained more or less as it was when designed some forty years ago. The practice ceased and with family persuasion I studied and became a Chartered Accountant. For many years I worked in the City eventually running a large publishing company.

In the 1990s I moved from London to Brighton. The reduction of my workload allowed me to concentrate on my artwork. I did foundation, a degree in Fine Art Printmaking at Brighton and an MA at University of East London. I then had a studio at Red Herring in Hove. I had a show at the Ben Uri and feel proud that they have one of my glass pieces, a panel about a meter tall which was screen printed on glass, fired in the kiln and slumped.

After several years at Red Herring I found that getting older the weight of the glass was too much for me and I found that I had to reluctantly give up the studio.

My daughter suggested what has been a driving feature of my interests, architecture and I went back and studied Architectural Technology at Brighton achieving a first in 2022 and then a MA in Architectural and Urban Design which I completed in 2025 with a distinction.

I thought of doing some more craft work but new have to think what is next as trying this out with leather ended up with issues of arthritis.
